BETONG: A farmer was killed on the spot after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a head-on collision with a car along Jalan Bukit Jaloh Layar yesterday (June 15).
Betong District Police Chief DSP Zamry Alli said the 70-year-old victim was confirmed dead at the scene following the 4.50pm incident.
“Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when a Toyota Avanza veered into the opposite lane and collided with a Modenas Kriss motorcycle coming from the opposite direction,” he said in a statement today (June 16).
The 56-year-old driver of the Avanza did not sustain any injury.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
