SELANGAU: A collision between a pickup truck and a car along Mile 35, Jalan Tamin, left a man dead and another with injuries last night (Nov 7).
The 11.40pm accident also caused severe damage to both vehicles with the pickup truck overturned on the road.
Aside from that, a 50-year-old man was reportedly be trapped in his car following the crash.
Firemen from Selangau station were promptly deployed to the scene, about 34km from the station, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arriving, extrication works with special tools were conducted to bring the victim out of his car.
Once the victim was brought out, the paramedics confirmed that he had died at the scene and his body was handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver only sustained minor injuries during the crash.
The team departed back to their station after wrapping up the operation at 12.50am.
