SRI AMAN: A father who brought his 16-year-old son along to purchase drugs was among 25 individuals detained in anti-drug operations conducted by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) here.

The arrests were made during ‘Ops Perdana’ carried out from April 14 to 16 across multiple high-risk locations in the district.

Raids were conducted in areas including Kampung Hilir, Kampung Hulu, Kampung Tengah, Kampung Sabu, Kampung Entulang Bungkang, Jalan Paderi, Jalan Sembauh, Tanjung Bijat, Bakong, Stumbin, Abok, Engkilili and Lubok Antu.

Of those detained, 21 men and four women tested positive for drugs.

“A total of 20 individuals tested positive for methamphetamine, one for ketamine, one for cannabis and three for ketum,” AADK said.

All suspects are being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

AADK said the operations were launched as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and ensure public safety.
