DALAT: The importance of education must be stressed by all parties, not just schools alone, says Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

Speaking at the Petronas Empowering Knowledge: MLNG Bestari Outreach Programme at SK Sungai Kut Tengah yesterday, she said education has the power to transform lives.

“Access to education today is not the same as in the past, especially for those in rural areas. Now, it is much easier for us to obtain education,” said the Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development.

“Therefore, this opportunity must be seized and used wisely.”

The Dalat assemblywoman also called on all stakeholders—families, communities, and the private sector—to work together to enhance children’s education.

“With cooperation from all parties, excellent results can be achieved, contributing positively to children’s educational progress.”

She commended the outreach programme, noting it reflects MLNG’s commitment to advancing education in rural areas and showcases its strong corporate social responsibility to the local community.

Fatimah said SK Sungai Kut Tengah and SJKC Poi Yuk are among the schools identified to benefit from the initiative.

She expressed hope that the contribution would help strengthen the quality of education at both schools.

Also present were the managing director and chief executive officer of the Malaysia LNG Group of Companies, Mohamed Syazwan Abdullah @ Laga Jenggi; Dalat District education officer Magdaline Jon; and SK Sungai Kut Tengah headmaster Muhammad Nur Salhan Salam.
