KUCHING: The wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, officiated the 2025 Sarawak-level World Thinking Day celebration hosted by the Girl Guides Association Malaysia (PPM) Sarawak Branch at Sheraton Hotel today.

She was warmly welcomed upon arrival by the top leadership of PPM Sarawak, including Chief Commissioner Ruth Sibat, President Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, and Vice-President Annie Sim.

In her speech, Fauziah expressed her appreciation for the unwavering dedication and commitment shown by the PPM Sarawak team in making the celebration a success.

She also voiced hope that the association would continue to cultivate future female leaders who are capable, resilient and ready to contribute meaningfully to the development of Sarawak and the nation.

Fauziah, who is also the Patron of PPM Sarawak, joined members of the association in a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony to mark the occasion.

This year’s celebration carries the theme ‘Cerita Kita (Our Story)’, aligning with the global theme set by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) for World Thinking Day.

The theme highlights the importance of nurturing young women leaders, fostering unity, and inspiring future generations with strong values and a sense of purpose.

Additionally, more than 200 Girl Guides from schools across Kuching, including SMK St Mary, SMK St Teresa, SK Matu Baru and SMK Matang Jaya, participated in the event.
