SIBU: Out of 147 traders, only 28 opened their stalls at the Sunday market at Taman Indah here, today (Dec 20).

This was lower than the more than 60 traders that came the previous day (Dec 19), said Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting.

“This market is badly affected by the four Indonesian women who were positive for Covid-19 that passed through this area last week.”

“However, the medical department is still conducting swab tests and it would take a few days for the results to be known.

“I will keep the public informed of the outcome,” he said.

He also advised residents of Sibu to practise standard operating procedures (SOP) diligently and to stay safe.
