Federation extends invitation to Fatimah for closing ceremony of cadre training camp

KUCHING: Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah welcomed a courtesy visit from the Women Section of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Kuching, Samarahan, and Serian Division at her office on Thursday (June 15).

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming Closing Ceremony Cadre Training Camp for all Sarawak women’s sections.

Georgina Chong Wei Kiaw, the women chief of the association, led the delegation during the meeting.

The main agenda of the discussion was to extend an invitation to Fatimah, who is Sarawak Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development,  to attend the closing ceremony.

The two-day event is scheduled to take place on June 29 at Aeroville here and is expected to draw some 120 women aged 30 years and above.

The training camp aims to provide female members aged 30 and older with essential skills and knowledge in various areas.

The courses offered during the training encompass topics such as effective leadership, communication skills, teamwork, self-management, and self-control.

Participants from various sections across Sarawak, including Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Sibu, Limbang, and Sarikei, are anticipated to attend the event.

In addition to Fatimah, vice-women chiefs Sim Kui Lian and Ling Choon Huang were also present at the meeting, along with secretary Mary Chan.

Marget Tan and Ng Heng Khi represented the Welfare and Liaison departments, respectively.
