KUCHING: Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA) Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by donating business zakat amounting to RM814,971.23 to Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS) yesterday (April 8).
The zakat donation was handed over by FELCRA Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Sr Zaidi Mahdi to TBS general manager Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during a ceremony held at the TBS Headquarters here.
The event was also attended by Baitulmal and Waqf Board chairman Datuk Abang Helmi Tan Sri Abang Ikhwan, who witnessed the donation ceremony.
For the record, FELCRA Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd is a joint venture between FELCRA Berhad and LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA).
The company is actively involved in the development of oil palm plantations in the Mukah Division, with 2,710.7 hectares of land in the Matu Daro area dedicated to oil palm cultivation.
Also present at the event was a member of the FELCRA Pelita Jemoreng Sdn Bhd board of directors, Bibi Umizah Osman.
