MIRI: A 32-year-old woman was rushed to Miri Hospital this morning (May 18) following a single-vehicle accident on Jalan Bakam.

The incident occurred when the Toyota Yaris she was driving veered off the road and collided with a tree.

According to the State Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre, they received an emergency call from MERS 999 at 2.32am.

Firefighters from Miri Sentral Station were promptly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firemen found that the victim was not trapped inside the vehicle.

They quickly assisted in transporting her to Miri Hospital for medical attention.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
