The distressing situation of a family facing severe financial challenges has led to the unfortunate decision of two teenagers to drop out of school, underscoring the urgent need for assistance.
Residing in Tabuan Dayak, the family is grappling with formidable obstacles due to the health condition of the household’s primary earner, Jimbau Manja.
Once employed as a construction worker, Jimbau was forced to leave his job due to a viral blood infection that has left him physically weakened.
With the primary breadwinner unable to work, the family’s financial stability has been placed squarely on the shoulders of Jimbau’s wife, Lindan, who earns a modest income as a fulltime cleaner.
The family is confronted with a monthly rent of RM360 along with daily expenses, causing their budget to be stretched to its limits. This financial strain has resulted in their two children, 16-year-old Veronica and her 13-year-old younger brother, halting their education last year.
Veronica revealed that the high costs associated with attending school added to the family’s burdens, leading her to make the difficult decision to discontinue her education.
In response, Hope Place Kuching has stepped in to provide essential food aid to the family. However, the family’s circumstances remain dire.
Concerned individuals who wish to offer support can contact Hope Place or Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching (PKHK) at 082-505987 to learn more about how they can assist this family in need.
