KUCHING: Sarawakians have been urged to uphold cultural values and work towards a united and harmonious society.
“This is the heritage of our society’s civilisation, which must be preserved and safeguarded. Let us all continue to maintain tolerance and respect for one another, regardless of race or religion,” said the Sarawak Indigenous Intellectual Association (Perantis) in a statement.
However, these ambitions and resolutions must be followed by actions to fulfill them, it added.
Also, the upcoming year promises to be significant for Sarawak as it prepares to host the Borneo Games, involving Malaysia (Sarawak, Sabah, and Labuan), Indonesia (Kalimantan), and Brunei Darussalam.
To maximise the event’s impact, the association suggested organising a trade expo alongside the sporting event, inviting entrepreneurs from the three nations to showcase and sell their products.
