KUCHING: A car engine was totally damaged in a fire incident at Jalan Demak, Petra Jaya.
A mother and her children had gone shopping and were getting out of the car at 11.15 am on Monday when suddenly, smoke billowed out of the engine followed by flames.
The family members were lucky to be out of the car and not on the road at the
time of the fire.
Nearby people called the Fire and Rescue Services Department who rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire.
They managed to stop fire from burning other parts of the car. The case is being investigated.
