SARIKEI: A house at Jalan Century here was 80 per cent destroyed in a fire on Thursday night.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the operation centre received an emergency call at 10.49 pm, before a team from the Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene.
Firefighters arrived three minutes later and found the structure engulfed in flames.
The occupants managed to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters brought the situation under control at 11.01 pm using two hose lines connected to a nearby fire hydrant, before conducting overhaul work to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.
