SIBURAN: A family of four were left homeless after an afternoon fire destroyed their single-storey terrace house at Taman Duranda Emas today (Nov 28).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 12.33 pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene, about 9km away, after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, the team found the house 90 per cent destroyed and extinguishing works were performed using water from their fire truck.
The flames were brought under control by 1.10 pm, and the team conducted overhaul works to prevent any potential reignition.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 2.02 pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
