BINTULU: A storage unit containing wires and electrical equipment at a warehouse in Jalan Sibiyu here was partially destroyed in a fire today.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the 11:56 am incident.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found that the storage unit was 45 per cent destroyed, and extinguished the blaze using water from their fire engine.
The fire also spread to the main structure of the building, burning about 20 per cent of it.
Firefighters also conducted overhaul works to ensure there was no risk of re-ignition.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
