KUCHING: Fire razed about three acres of land along Jalan Pending this afternoon.
Eight firemen from Padungan station were deployed to the scene, located opposite the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) building, after receiving an emergency call around 12.18pm.
Upon arriving, the team found that the fire was raging in patches around the area, which had burned about three acres of the land.
The firemen managed to contain the blaze in about two hours. There were no reports of injuries or casualties in the incident.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
