SIBU: A chicken factory workers’ home at Jalan Siong Gak here was destroyed in a fire in the wee hours of Wednesday (July 1) morning.

According to a spokesperson of the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, a call on the incident was received at 2.44am and a team of firemen of Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the home was found to have been 90 percent destroyed.

Twenty Indonesian workers who lived in the house managed to save themselves during the incident.

The fire was brought under control at 3.30am and no casualties were reported.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
