KUCHING: Four families in Kampung Haji Baki, who lost their homes in a recent fire, have received new homes to help them rebuild their lives.
Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, said the newly constructed homes, which are part of the House Assistance Project (BEKR), are equipped with essential features to ensure the affected families can live in a safe and comfortable environment.
He said that the initiative demonstrates the Sarawak Government’s commitment to the welfare of its people, particularly those facing misfortune.
“We understand that losing a home in a fire is a deeply distressing experience.
“Therefore, I hope these new homes will mark a new beginning filled with hope and peace for each family,” he said after the handover ceremony today.
He reiterated that the Sarawak Government remains committed to ensuring no one is left behind, especially during times of need.
He added that assistance like this is not just a physical contribution but also a symbol of our care and solidarity as a compassionate society.
