Firefighters assist in rescue of obese man

Firemen carefully evacuate the man from the first floor of the building.

LAWAS: Firefighters from the Lawas Fire Station successfully assisted in the evacuation of an obese man during a medical emergency this afternoon (Dec 17).

The 47-year-old man, estimated to weigh 150kg, was found unconscious on the first floor of a building along Jalan Datuk Racha Umong.

Medical officers from Lawas Hospital were already on the scene providing treatment when the fire department arrived.

Firefighters used a stretcher to carefully move the victim from the first floor to the ground level, ensuring his safety throughout the process.

He was subsequently transferred to an ambulance and taken to Lawas Hospital for further treatment.

The Sarawak Operations Centre reported that they received an emergency call about the incident at approximately 5.30 pm, and the operation concluded successfully at 6.35 pm.
