PADAWAN: Firefighters were once again dispatched to Batu 9, Jalan Indah Ria this morning (Nov 6) after flames reignited at the site of a tyre factory fire that had been declared fully extinguished just two days ago.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the latest incident, reported at 6.30 am, involved piles of used tyres that caught fire again at the same location where a massive blaze had destroyed two factories late last month.
Firefighters from Kota Samarahan and Kota Sentosa stations were deployed to the scene, about 20km away.
No casualties were reported, and firefighting efforts were ongoing as at press time.

The earlier fire, which began on the night of Oct 29, had raged for seven days before it was fully extinguished on Nov 4.
The blaze destroyed a used tyre factory and severely damaged a nearby plastic recycling plant.
Subsequent investigations found that the tyre factory had been operating without a valid licence and had been storing large quantities of used tyres in unsafe conditions.
It is reported that the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) will conduct an investigation and take appropriate action under the Natural Resources and Environment (Collection and Disposal of Used Tyres) Rules 2012.
