MIRI: Firefighters from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station were called out early Friday morning after a python was spotted at a company premises in Lutong.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Zone 6 team received the emergency call at 6:48 am on January 2, following a report of a snake at the premises.
A Fire Rescue Tender was mobilised within minutes and arrived at the location at 6:52 am, covering a distance of about five kilometres.
Upon arrival, the operations commander confirmed the presence of a python in the compound, as reported by the caller.

Firefighters conducted a rapid assessment of the situation before deploying specialised equipment, including a snake snare and grabber, to safely restrain and capture the reptile.
The operations was completed without incident, and the area was declared safe shortly before 7:00 am.
The team returned to the station at 7:05 am after concluding the operations.
No injuries were reported, and no other agencies were involved.
The operations was led by PBK II Awang Arizal, with support from four personnel from the Lutong station.
