
KUCHING: Eleven firefighters from Petra Jaya fire station was called to remove an adjustable spanner stuck on a 12-year-old boy’s finger on Friday afternoon.
The team, led by Senior Fire Officer II, Wan Umar rushed to the boy’s house in Kampung Gita after receiving a distress call at 2.39pm.
According to a statement by State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), it took the firefighters less than an hour to free the boy’s finger from the hole of the adjustable spanner.
The department said the rescuers used a bolt cutter to cut a section of the spanner to the boy’s left ring finger.
The boy was then given treatment by EMRS personnel who were also at the house.
