MIRI: Local firefighters were called out late Friday afternoon after a fallen tree blocked a residential road in Tudan here.
The alarm was raised at 4.13 pm when a caller, reported that a large tree had come down across Lot 47, Lorong Mulia 5C. Within a minute of the emergency call, team members from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Lutong) were mobilised.
A team of six firefighters, supported by a control room officer, arrived at the scene at 4.21 pm, just seven minutes after leaving their base. Using chainsaws, they cut through the fallen trunk and cleared the obstruction to reopen the road.
The operation began at 4.22 pm and was declared complete 15 minutes later. By 4.48 pm, the fire engine had returned to station, covering a distance of roughly eight kilometres.
No injuries were reported and no property damage was recorded. The swift intervention ensured that traffic flow in the neighbourhood was restored with minimal disruption.
