KUCHING: Taska Impian has made history as the first childcare centre in Serian to be officially registered under the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Owned by Linda Mareh, 38, the centre’s registration sets a new standard for quality childcare in the constituency and serves as a call to action for other childcare providers to follow suit.

The launch of the Registered Taska plaque took place at Wisma Kebajikan Masyarakat, where the event was graced by the Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Her attendance demonstrates the government’s support for initiatives that safeguard children’s welfare and promote high standards in childcare facilities.

Linda expressed the importance of the registration, saying that it is not merely about fulfilling legal obligations but also about taking social responsibility to provide the best possible care for children.

“I hope that Taska Impian’s example will encourage more childcare operators in Serian to register their facilities, ensuring that children are cared for in safe, high-quality environments,” she said.

The registration serves as an achievement for the Serian Welfare Office, which has been actively encouraging more childcare providers to comply with registration standards.

By doing so, parents can be assured of the safety, well-being, and quality of care their children receive.

With Taska Impian leading the way, the hope is that more childcare centres in Serian will take similar steps, contributing to the creation of a safer, more nurturing environment for young children.
