KUCHING: A family of five managed to escape safely after their house caught fire at Taman Penrissen, Batu 12, along Jalan Kuching-Serian this afternoon.
The incident occurred when the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 3.08 pm regarding a house fire.
Firefighters from the Siburan and Kota Sentosa fire stations were dispatched and arrived at the scene at 3.25 pm.
Reports from the scene indicated that about 60 per cent of the house structure was engulfed in flames.
“Parts of the house were damaged. However, a van that was not in use was completely engulfed by the fire.
“Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, and overhaul operations were carried out to ensure the fire was fully put out,” the report said.
The operation ended at 4.25 pm.
