KUCHING: Five individuals sustained minor injuries after the car they were in skidded off the road and crashed into the road barrier along Jalan FAC, Matang here yesterday.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 5.31 pm, prompting the dispatch of a team from the Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found that all victims had exited the vehicle and were in a safe zone.

“No victims were trapped. All five individuals suffered only light injuries. Initial treatment was provided by the Civil Defence Force (APM) at the scene,” Bomba said in a statement today.

Two victims were later transported to the hospital via APM ambulance, while the remaining three were sent using the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit from Bomba.

“No rescue operation was required as all victims had managed to free themselves before the arrival of emergency responders,” Bomba added.
