SRI AMAN: Five people escaped with injuries after the sport utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in skidded off the road at Kampung Selantik here this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said a distress call was received at 11:38 am regarding the self-accident, which occurred about 53 kilometres from the station.
A team from Sri Aman station was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the department said the rescue team found that members of the public had already rescued all five individuals – two men and three women – from the vehicle.
“After conducting a size-up, two women were taken by an ambulance from Pantu Health Clinic to the clinic for treatment, while another man and woman were transported by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit to Sri Aman Hospital.
“Meanwhile, another man sustained minor injuries and was given initial treatment at the scene by the rescue team before awaiting an ambulance from Sri Aman Hospital,” it said.
The operation concluded at 12:55 pm once the situation was declared safe.
