SARIKEI: Five individuals sustained minor injuries following a collision between a sedan vehicle and a cement lorry along Jakar, Jalan Pan Borneo here yesterday afternoon.
The injured individuals involved three adult females, one female child and one male child.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said after a distress call at 1.28 pm, personnel from the Sarikei station were dispatched to the scene, located about 15km away.
“Upon arrival, all five injured individuals had already been extricated from the sedan-type vehicle by members of the public.
“They were later sent to the hospital via two ambulances of the Ministry of Health (MOH),” it said in a statement yesterday.
It added that no rescue operation was carried out and the team proceeded to clean up the accident site.
