BAU: Police have issued five summonses for traffic offences during Op Bersepadu at Pasar Serikin here today (Mar 29).

Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman said the operation at Pasar Serikin was conducted from 10am to 12pm, involving police personnel and officers on the ground.

The operation was carried out in the Serikin area following concerns that motorcycle riders were not complying with road traffic regulations.

“The operation also aimed to demonstrate the presence of police officers among visitors at the Serikin Market, helping to boost public confidence in terms of their safety.

“We hope that the operations will encourage a change in behaviour among motorcycle riders,” said Mohd Haide.

During the operation, a total of 38 vehicles were inspected, comprising 28 motorcycles, four cars, two four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles and one van.

A total of 45 individuals were also inspected.

Police issued five summonses for traffic violations, namely not wearing helmets (three cases) and lack of side mirrors (two cases).
