SEPANG, Selangor: AirAsia will operate 1,578 fixed-fare flights during the upcoming Chinese New Year and Hari Raya festive periods, offering more than 31,000 seats for travel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
One-way flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sarawak will be priced at RM328, while fares to Sabah will be fixed at RM398, covering routes to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan.
Transport Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, said ensuring affordable travel during major festive seasons remains a priority for the government, particularly for Malaysians returning home to celebrate with their families.
“AirAsia’s fixed fares initiatives reflect a strong commitment by the airline to support this goal by keeping air travel within reach for more families,” he said at the launch of the initiative today.
For the Chinese New Year period, bookings are open until February 24 for travel between February 13 and February 24, while Hari Raya fixed fares can be booked until March 26 for travel between March 18 and March 26.
Loke added that the initiative also works hand in hand with existing government measures, including the RM400 FLYsiswa programme, which assists students travelling between Peninsular and East Malaysia.
