MIRI: Continuous heavy rainfall since Wednesday has caused flooding on the road connecting Lapok to Beluru, rendering it inaccessible to small vehicles.

The Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) was dispatched to the area today (Nov 25) in response to rising water levels. Their focus is on flood monitoring and ensuring the safety of nearby residents.

“The excessive rain has resulted in a flood water surge of about one and a half feet high,” said an APM spokesperson.

Local residents are advised to exercise caution when travelling in the affected area. Currently, there are no evacuation centres open, as authorities deem the situation manageable.

APM carries out flood monitoring.
