Flood situation in Samarahan fully recovers after relief centre closes

KUCHING: Flood situation in the Samarahan Division has fully recovered following the closure of the only temporary relief centre in operation at Bangunan Masjid Lama, Kampung Seruyuk, at 10 am today.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) said that all 37 flood evacuees from nine families who were housed at the relief centre have been allowed to return to their respective homes.

The relief centre, which was opened yesterday, accommodated evacuees from Kampung Seruyuk.

This flood marks the second wave to hit Sarawak, following the full recovery from the previous flood situation on Jan 17. – BERNAMA
