KUCHING: Fifty-eight temporary evacuation centres (PPS) were set up throughout Sarawak as of 8 am today.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat said a total of 9,908 victims from 2,807 families were evacuated due to natural disasters in the past few days.
For floods, 57 PPS were open with a total of 9,780 flood victims, where 4,830 were in Bintulu division, Samarahan division (873), Serian division (2,124), Kuching division (495), Miri division (475) and Sibu division (983).
Meanwhile, for landslides, only two PPS have been set up at Pusat Bulan Sabit Merah with 105 victims and Dewan Kampung Sukan with 26 victims.
For fire, only one PPS has set up at Dewan Datuk Aaron Bawan Kanowit with only 37 evacuated victims.
