PUSA: Ninety food baskets were handed out to underprivileged asnaf families in Kampung Beladin.
Beting Maro assemblyman Dato Razaili Gapor said the programme was aimed at easing the burden of the less fortunate while nurturing a spirit of charity within the Muslim community.
He urged Muslims, particularly those in Kampung Beladin, to continue enhancing their acts of worship as provisions for the hereafter, in addition to practising mutual assistance among one another.
“Every good deed we perform carries great rewards in the sight of Allah SWT,” he said in his speech at the handover ceremony here yesterday (Jan 3).
He added that the food basket contributions would be extended to other villages within the Beting Maro constituency to ensure more asnaf groups benefit from the initiative.
Razaili also called on the community to increase charitable practices, as these not only help those in need but are also noble deeds encouraged in Islam.
Meanwhile, he encouraged the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to plan and implement more programmes together with the local community to strengthen unity and societal well-being.
