SPAOH: Betong MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu has advised food operators to keep their premises clean.
According to him, cleanliness is not just about the physical aspect of the business place but also involves responsibility towards the health of consumers, the business image and the well-being of the local community.
“Therefore, ensuring a clean food premises should be a continuous culture not just a seasonal campaign.
“A clean food premises not only attracts customers but also contributes to public health and the sustainability of the local economy.
“Indeed, cleanliness is the foundation for confidence, safety and progress,” he said.
Richard, who is also the chairman of the Betong District Council (MDB), spoke during the launching of the 2025 Clean Food Premises Campaign at the Bumiputera Spaoh Stalls organised by MDB on Thursday.
After the ceremony, the MP took time to engage with visitors and vendors in a friendly and open manner.
The programme continued with a ‘gotong-royong’ (mutual cooperation) activity at the area of the stalls.
It was participated by members of the local authorities, traders and the surrounding residents.
