SERIAN: The Civil Defence Force (APM) here helped to destroy a wasp nest as big as a football along Jalan Kuching-Serian on Wednesday (Sept 7).
Serian APM officer Lieutenant (PA) Mackinly Jores said they had received a distressed call around 5.20pm and despatched a three-member team to the scene at Kampung Tarat Melawi.
“Upon arriving, the complainant led the team clad in full personal protective equipment (PPE), to the location of the nest.
“The nest was found located by the roadside near some houses in the village; it was destroyed by burning,” he said in a statement.
After ensuring that it was safe, the team returned to their station at 7.05pm
