BINTULU: An Indonesian man was killed and three others were injured in a collision between a long trailer and a four-wheel drive near Shell Samalaju Petrol Station along Jalan Coastal Bintulu–Miri on Wednesday evening (Nov 12).

The victim, who was travelling in the 4×4, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other occupants, a 45-year-old Malaysian man from the same vehicle, a 44-year-old Malaysian trailer driver, and his Indonesian passenger sustained various injuries.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said rescuers from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene at 5.33 pm following an emergency call.

Two victims were initially trapped inside the 4×4 but were successfully extricated by firefighters.

All injured victims received initial treatment from ambulance personnel before being taken to hospital for further care.
