KUCHING: Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that foreigners with work permits and valid visas including those under the Malaysia My Second Home programme, who were in Malaysia before the movement control order (MCO) started, are allowed to enter Sarawak without being quarantined.

However, they must apply for permission through the SDMC, whereas other foreigners are required to undergo mandatory 14 days quarantine and the expenses are to be borne by them.

As for non-Sarawakian teachers returning to Sarawak, they are required to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.

SDMC, in a statement on Friday, said for teachers who work in urban areas, they are required to undergo self-quarantine at their quarters under the Stay Home Notice for 14 days.

“They are also required to wear wristbands throughout the quarantine period and will be called on day 10 for Covid-19 screening,” said SDMC.

The secretariat further said for teachers who work in rural areas, they are also required to undergo 14 days quarantine at designated quarantine centres set by SDMC.

These teachers will also have their Covid-19 screening done on day 10.
