KUCHING: The Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) is looking to strengthen strategic collaboration in enforcement and sustainable resource management following a recent courtesy visit by a delegation from the Enforcement, Leadership and Management University at its headquarters.

Its director Datuk Hamden Mohammad received the delegation led by ELMU vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Kassim Noor Mohamed, at a meeting that reflected both parties’ shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in enforcement, governance and environmental sustainability.

The visit also aimed to explore wider areas of collaboration, including research, professional training and capacity building related to law enforcement and forest resource management.

Such cooperation is expected to further strengthen institutional capabilities while supporting ongoing efforts in the conservation and sustainable management of Sarawak’s forest resources.

The session also served as a platform to share insights on the upcoming 1st International Conference on Enforcement, Law and Integrity 2026 (ICELIn26), which is scheduled to take place later this year.

Also present were head of Prevention and Enforcement Division Roslan Othman, along with several senior officers from the department.
