KUALA LUMPUR: The Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) has achieved remarkable success at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2025, securing three prestigious Gold Awards and two Special Awards in the Public Service Innovation Asia (PSIA) category.
Taking place at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur for three days until yesterday (Feb 22), this year’s event marks FDS’ third consecutive participation, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability, technological advancement, and sustainable forest management.
The awarded initiatives include several noteworthy programmes. The Greening Sarawak programme, which promotes environmental sustainability through innovative technologies, received a Gold Award along with the Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CETREE) Special Award.
Additionally, the EcoHub — a digital platform designed to enhance nature conservation and community engagement — earned a Gold Award and the Chinese Innovation and Invention Society (Taiwan) Special Award.
Finally, a Gold Award was presented for the Intelligence Timber Table (ITimT) and Calculator (ITimC), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionising timber revenue collection and ensuring supply chain legality.
FDS expressed gratitude to its dedicated teams and leadership, saying, “A heartfelt congratulations to all the brilliant minds behind these innovations and to every officer who contributed directly or indirectly to this success.
“We also extend our deepest gratitude to our esteemed leadership for their continuous support and visionary guidance.”
“As we celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to enhancing public service delivery, streamlining digital processes, and fostering sustainable forest management practices,” it said in a statement.
