KAPIT: A search and rescue (SAR) operation is underway for a man who went missing after entering a forest near Camp Suau, Balleh, on Saturday.

Civil Defence Force (APM) Kapit district officer Capt Mohamad Noor Ini said they received information regarding the incident from Kapit police at 10.13 am on Sunday.

“A four-man team was dispatched to the district police headquarters to attend a briefing and gather information,” he said.

Henry Laing Ngau, 38, failed to return to the camp after entering the forest at around 9 pm on Saturday.

The SAR operation involves personnel from the APM, the Kapit Fire and Rescue Department, camp workers and local residents.

As of press time, Henry remains missing.
