KANOWIT: Police here confirmed that they have received a report from former Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent, over a falsified letter which claimed that he had resigned as Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Ngemah chairman.
Kanowit OCPD DSP Tega Bilong, who confirmed the case, said the report was lodged at Kanowit police station on Thursday.
The case is being investigated under Section 468 of the Penal Code for forgery of documents.
In the report, Alexander denied resigning from his position and believed that someone had forged his signature in the alleged letter.
“While he (Alexander) was in Kuching on Mar 10, he received a WhatsApp message from the branch’s secretary around 4.34 pm.
“She informed him of a letter that she received, which stated that he had resigned as the branch’s chairman.
“On Mar 21, he received a phone call from his deputy chairman informing that the letter was brought up during their annual general meeting on Mar 17,” Tega said.
Following that, Alexander lodged a report and asked the police to take action against the culprit responsible for falsifying the letter.
