KUALA LUMPUR: Fortinet has launched a local Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Point-of-Presence (PoP) to boost secure digital growth and support organisations adopting cloud and hybrid work models in Malaysia.
The global cybersecurity firm said the Malaysia-based PoP enables enterprises and hybrid workforces to access secure, high-performance connectivity with low latency, while maintaining consistent security enforcement across distributed environments.
Vice-President of Sales for India, SAARC, Southeast Asia and ANZ, Vishak Raman said the investment reflects Fortinet’s commitment to strengthening cyber resilience through local infrastructure and long-term ecosystem support.
“As organisations across the region embrace distributed work and cloud adoption, we are focused on building a strong foundation that enables customers and partners to innovate securely while supporting Malaysia’s broader digital transformation ambitions,” he said in a statement on Thursday (April 16).
The local deployment forms part of Fortinet’s broader cloud security expansion across Southeast Asia and aligns with Malaysia’s MADANI vision and national digital economy agenda.

Meanwhile, Fortinet’s Malaysia Country Manager, Kevin Wong, said the country’s digital economy is accelerating across both public and private sectors, bringing new opportunities alongside increasingly complex cyber risks.
“Fortinet’s investment in local SASE infrastructure aligns with Malaysia MADANI cybersecurity initiatives to support the development of a Sovereign AI Cloud, enabling organisations to modernise securely,” he said.
The company said the Malaysia PoP complements its existing presence in Kuala Lumpur and reinforces confidence in the country’s growing cybersecurity ecosystem, particularly as organisations expand hybrid work strategies and cloud adoption.
Fortinet added that the deployment is part of its wider regional rollout, alongside similar infrastructure in Thailand and the Philippines, enabling low-latency security inspection and service level agreements of up to 99.999 per cent.
Powered by Fortinet’s Unified SASE architecture and a single FortiOS operating system, the platform allows consistent policy enforcement across on-premises and cloud environments, helping organisations reduce complexity, consolidate vendors, and improve overall security outcomes.
