Forum on MA63 will attract more attendees

KUCHING: The Federalism: Federal Constitution and Malaysian Agreement 1963 Forum in the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018 to be held on 20 October will be one of the main events to attract Anak-anak Sarawak (Sons of Sarawak) in West Malaysia.

Member of Parliament for Santubong Dato Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tunku Jaafar who is also the Organising Chairman for the ‘Federalism: Federal Constitution and Malaysian Agreement 1963 Forum’ said the topic is a current subject matter on Sarawak’s rights which will be told to the forum’s participants.

“The keynote address for the forum will be delivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas while the panel members are Tan Sri Datuk Amar Leonard Linggi Jugah from Tun Jugah Foundation, State Attorney General Datuk Talat Mahmood Abdul Rahsid, Batang Sadong MP Dato Sri Nancy Shukri and Assistant Minister of Corporate Affairs Abdullah Saidol as the moderator,” Junaidi said.

He added that any question on Sarawak’s rights in the Federal Constitution and MA63 by Anak-Anak Sarawak will be answered during the forum.

“We will also have a Town hall meeting with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“With this Town hall meeting and forum, we are aiming to get closer with the Sarawakians studying and working in West Malaysia so that they will be informed of current issues, situation and developments in Sarawak,” he said during a press conference at Santubong Parliament Service Centre at Jalan Kulas here, yesterday.

He said other forums are Sarawak Transformation Plan, Towards High Income and Developed State 2030, Sarawak Future in the New Malaysia and Sarawak Success Stories: From Zero to Hero.

“We expect about 6,000 students and those who work in West Malaysia particularly in Pulau Pinang, Johor Bahru, Melaka and Terengganu to be present,” he added.

Junaidi also mentioned that there will also be 70 exhibition booths comprising 30 government agencies booths and 40 private sector and entrepreneur booths.

“Some of the private sector booths will showcase Sarawak’s products such as Sarawak Laksa and will focus on Sarawak’s talents too,” he pointed out.

He said the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018 to be held at Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur will conclude with Anak Sarawak Dinner to be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.

Also present were Petra Jaya MP Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof who is also founder and advisor of Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak, Batang Lupar MP Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim and Mukah MP Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib.
