Four flood victims rescued from trapped vehicle in Sepupok Niah

MIRI: Fire and rescue personnel rescued four people who were trapped in a car along Jalan Penerangan, Sepupok Niah, after rising floodwaters cut off the route earlier this morning.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre, the incident was reported at 9.09 am, prompting a five-member team from the Batu Niah Fire Station, led by PBK I Awang Azwan, to deploy to the scene using a Hilux response vehicle.

Firefighters reached the location and transferred all victims safely to a Bomba rescue boat.

No injuries have been reported.
