SIMANGGANG: Four people were injured after a Toyota Vios skidded and crashed to the roadside near Pungguk Tapang this afternoon (Aug 9).
The accident occurred at around 2 pm before Bukit Begunan, with two men and two women travelling in the car.
It was not known who the driver was at the time.
The Fire and Rescue Department said firefighters from Sri Aman station were dispatched to the scene, about 6km away, following a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found that three victims managed to get out of the vehicle before emergency responders arrived, while another remained inside the car.
The last victim was safely assisted out of the vehicle and taken to the roadside, where an ambulance was waiting.
All four injured victims were handed over to paramedics to be transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
The extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 3.16 pm.
