BINTULU: The race for the remaining quarter-final spots in the Third Edition BIFA President’s Cup 2026 is intensifying, with only four teams having secured qualification so far.
BIFA Honorary Secretary, Musabaqah Meliki, said the four teams are the current group leaders from the tournament’s four groups.
They are WFL FC (Group A), Ensumbar FC (Group B), WFL Youth FC (Group C), and PPFC (Group D).
“All four teams have maintained unbeaten records after three matches. Automatically, these four teams have already secured their places in the quarter-finals,” Musabaqah told Sarawak Tribune.
However, he noted that the remaining four quarter-final spots are still up for grabs.

He added that the points gap among the teams currently placed second in each group remains very close.
“Looking at the standings, the difference between the second-placed teams in every group is minimal. Some positions may even be decided by goal difference. So, we will have to wait for the outcome of this weekend’s matches,” he said.
Musabaqah expects the upcoming fixtures to be fiercely contested, with teams determined to clinch victories and secure the remaining quarter-final berths.
“We believe the matches this weekend will be even more competitive because the teams involved are fully focused on winning and qualifying for the quarter-finals,” he added.
