KUCHING: The BizFrancais Sarawak 2025 exhibition kicked off on Saturday at the Hikmah Exchange Exhibition Centre with nearly 30 exhibitors, spotlighting RM22 million in franchise investments by Sarawak entrepreneurs.
Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (PERNAS) Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Nor Azam M. Taib, said the agency has supported more than 77 franchise and pre-franchise entrepreneurs in Sarawak through business development initiatives and financing programmes.
“This commitment reflects our seriousness in helping franchise entrepreneurs at the state level grow and eventually expand to national and international markets,” he said during the launch ceremony.
This year’s edition features government agencies, franchisors, pre-franchisors, and entrepreneurs under PERNAS-led initiatives such as the Xcelerator and Business In Transformation (BIT) programmes, all showcasing their business models.
The event also included knowledge-sharing sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the franchise industry.
One of the main highlights is a forum featuring key voices across the franchise ecosystem – franchisors, franchisees, licensors, and PERNAS representatives – sharing first-hand insights and experiences.
“This is the best opportunity for participants to gain a better understanding of the franchise industry directly from industry players,” Nor Azam added.
