SARATOK: The Sarawak government has allocated RM500,000 to refurbish 28 homes in the Kalaka constituency as part of the Sarawak Poor House Improvement Programme (MRP-PPRMS).

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said that this funding ensures residents have better living conditions.

“Through the government support, RM500,000 was set aside for this project in Kalaka. We aim to improve 28 homes, helping residents upgrade their old houses,” he said this following a lottery session that determined the contractors responsible for this project here recently.

To date, 96 homes have been upgraded since its implementation in 2018.

“I’d like to thank the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the GPS administration for their commitment to improving our community,” said Mohamad.

He further advised residents to treasure their homes and not sell them hastily.
