KUCHING: While Gabriel Nistelrooy has everyone talking about Kuching City FC’s next‑season recruits, fans are already speculating on who might join the ranks alongside him.

Gabriel, the 24‑year‑old Johor Darul Ta’zim II striker, claimed both the Golden Boot and Best Player awards in this year’s MFL Cup with an outstanding 24‑goal haul – earning widespread acclaim.

But who else could be on Kuching City’s radar?

Social media chatter points to Kedah Darul Aman FC loanee Syafiq Ahmad.

The 29‑year‑old hinted he’ll soon depart ‘The Deers’ after completing his loan spell from JDT, posting an Instagram photo of a loaded truck that sparked rumours of a move to the Sarawak capital.

Kuching City FC also finds itself in the broader rumour mill, with two more big names – former KL City captain Paulo Josué and Terengganu FC star Safawi Rasid – linked to the club.

None of these moves have been confirmed – online chatters suggest Josué could arrive on loan from JDT for the 2025/26 season following his shock KL City exit, while Safawi is tipped to join as backup to leading forward Nur Shamie Iszuan.
